*So last week a blogger friend of mine wrote about the wonderful relationship her daughter has with her blanket...
which made me realize I haven't talked about Reagan and her bestest friend...So thank you...for the reminder!!!*

When Reagan was a teeny tiny baby...
like barely months old...
I crept into her room to close her window....
It was a chilly spring night...
and I reached into her closet...
and without even looking...
I grabbed a blanket...
and covered her up....
and that was just the beginning...
Reilly never had a "blankie"
so I didn't know this kind of "blankie" love...
until this girl...met this blanket.
Green blanket followed Reagan to child care
every.single.day.
and then it followed her to Pre-school
every.single.day.
We've always had some blankie rules.
Yes, you can bring it in the car to the store...
but it doesn't go in the store.
No it doesn't go to the bus stop.
Yes, it can go on sleepovers.
and of course...
Yes, it can always always go to bed with you...
Yes, it can always always go to bed with you...
I only wash it at night.
After I sneak into her room..
take it off of her...
wash it...
dry it...
and replace it before she wakes up..
Don't get me wrong...
she knows I washed it..
"cause it smells so good."
but the thought of going to sleep without it is unbearable.
I wonder sometimes how long it will last.
and between you and I ...
it's pretty flippin nasty.
It has stains...
most of which were made with chocolate milk...
But...
the edges are still silky.
and it still feels just right when she rubs it while she is falling asleep.
I love that she has this "friend"
We have plans to turn it into a quilt...
but....we have to wait until she is willing to let it go...
at least for a little while...
This kid sure has a crazy case of blankie love..

Awwww... adorable :)
So sweet!!! All of my kids have had a lovey of some form or another! It is a beautiful thing!!!
Too cute! I actually went and bought a second, exact duplicate, of my Li'l Empress's wubby (lovey blankey). When she came home to us from China, we had to introduce the wubby to divert her from her anxious, unhealthy self-soothing behaviors (like pulling her hair, etc.) It was a suggestion from a friend and now we have one for the pre-school bag and one for home.
Thanks for leaving such a sweet comment over at my place. Your blog is adorable! I'm glad to be your newest follower! :) With Love...
Ah yes...blankets. I will never forget my "bwankie" as long as I live. :) And adorable photos.
So sweet! Take good care of that blankie...our daughter is headed to college in the fall and STILL sleeps with her blankie every night. It's threadbare, there's no silky binding anymore, it's really just a ratty scrap of a thing. But...she wouldn't even consider retiring it! ;)
