6/365 Reagan's flowers...

So Reagan's 6th Birthday is the never ending birthday...

Cause she had her family party...

but she hasn't had her friend party...

it's in two weeks...

Reilly and I did however take a little something into school so she could celebrate with her friends on her actual birthday.

The rule at Reagan's school is no cake.
No cupcakes.

Pretty much healthy snacks only.

Or "gift" bags.

You know...pencils...erasers...that kind of thing.

So being the rebels you know we are...

We brought these...

and these...

I know...we're crazy right.

The very best part...
was right before I left work...
to head over to her kindergarten class...
I got a phone call...
from this guy...

and he says....
could you do me a favor...
and have some flowers delivered to my girlie...
for her Birthday?

Seriously.
Could he get any cuter?

I didn't do it by the way...
Cause I was going there...
and it was so much cheaper to just bring them in ourselves...
we made sure she knew exactly who they were from...

and boy was she proud of them...

This kiddo sure did hit the jackpot when she lucked into her Daddy.

Happy Birthday Girlie.

XO

We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A wk8

We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A wk8

1}Everyone seems to have a quirky family situation-- what is something unique about your family dynamic?

My Mom and my Step-Dad are divorced...but they are best friends and still live together.  No one else really likes him...but we love her so we put up with him!

{2}What is the most stressful aspect to blogging (aside from the network going down)?

I always edit my pics first.  Sometimes I will have a blog done for days before the pics are edited and I just can't do it... I have to edit first!
{3}We all end up on a blog at some point in our day, but name your top 3 favorite websites you flock to daily (non blog)!
1. Facebook- Errrr. I waste half my life on facebook.  I think I talk to my friends more on facebook than any other way.  I even send facebook messages more than I email.

2. Picni- is a close second.  Picnik has been awesome for me because it is super easy to use and I love the things you can do with it.  I feel like I may be outgrowing it a little bit...because I wanna try new things...but I sure do love me some picnik!

3.Gradebooks.  This is a website our school district has where you can check your child's grades.  It shows you if there are missing assingments...when things are due and what thier effort is like.  <3 this!  Kids can't get away with anything!
{4}What’s your sign? Believe in it or not, does any part ring true to you?
LIBRA!!!!  We are all about balance.  Pretty romantic, easy going... we like to make others happy sometimes at the risk of our own happiness...which can be a downfall...but yeah...we kinda rock!
{5}IceCream!! ICECREAM!! We all scream for icecream! Name your favorite flavor/brand!
Ben and Jerry's Oatmean Cookie Chunk.  No brainer.  It is amazing.  It knocks my socks off. Try it.  It's kind of hard to find.  Limited supply in these
parts.  now I'm hungry!

Math 5/365

My Roo.

She's had a rough year.

This girl has always loved math.

She has always been a confident math student.

Until this year.

This year...she kind of got stuck with a crappy math teacher.

Now please understand... I am SO not a teacher basher.

She's had teachers I haven't loved.

But this guy.

This guy has almost single handedly ruined math for my kiddo.

Errrr.

That just makes me angry.

The one good thing that has come out of this is...

this....

I can't say for sure if she sees it as a good thing right now...

I know that doing math with your dad...probably isn't any one's idea of a good time...

but any Dad that is willing to do this...

is a pretty amazing guy in my book....

Because someday....

Someday she will be graduating from High School...
and she is going to remember that he cared enough to give up his Sunday night to make sure she knew the formula's for that pre-algebra test.

Someday...when she is in college...
she is going to want to work... just a little harder...
because he believed in her.  Because he knew she could do it...
with just a little help.

And she is going to remember...
That when it was all said and done...
He had her back...
He was on her side...
and all that work...
was rewarded...
with
a
100%!

Way to go Roo.

So very VERY VERY proud of you...(and your Daddy!)

Sunday Snapshot {I am so ready for summer!} 4/365

Come play at

Sunday Snapshot

Yesterday was just the beginning...

Of things to come...

You see, here in New England, I think we appreciate Summer just a little more.

Because it's so short.  Like three months tops.  We have to steal a little bit of spring and fall and pretend like it's summer....that's how fast it goes by.

And when the sun finally decided to show itself around here...
We can't help but want to be in it.
To soak it up....
To store it up...

Because we know...
It won't be here long...

and as I get older I am pretty sure the winters get longer...
while the summers get shorter...

So yesterday...
My nephew came home...
From Iraq.

Not for good.

Yet.

It was wonderful to see him...
and know he is okay.

We are always looking for a good reason to get together...
and this was one hell of a reason!

Cause a cook-out at Shirley's is one hell of a way to start of the summer...
Especially when you get so see people like this...

Or glimpses of teenagers before they head off to be with their friends...

There is nothing like a red and white check table cloth to make it feel like a cook-out is there?

But really it's all about the family.
And spending time with them...
There's nothing better than the remember when game...
You know the one...
Remember when we did this...
Remember when we did that...
and it's even better because...
and I've been around long enough to be able to play along...

Boy do I love me some Summer!

3/365 The Harlem Wizards

Reagan came home from school today talking about "the wizards".
Ryan and I had NO idea what she was talking about...

After a game of 20 questions we finally figured out she was talking about these guys.

They had visited her school today.
She was amazed by the things they did.

She couldn't stop talking about it.
...and Dad...they can make baskets behind their backs..
...and Dad...they dribbled between their legs...
...and Dad...
....and Dad...
...and Dad...they are going to be at the high school tonight...
...and Dad...I really want to go...
paleeeeeze?!

Come on...
for those of you who know Ryan...
There was NO way that little girl wasn't getting exactly what she wanted...

When she got home..
He had gotten her a little something...
And from the minute she got home...
Until she fell asleep...
She didn't let it out of her sight...

Tomorrow we're heading out to get her a hoop to go with it...

You could very well be looking at the next star of the WNBA.

I'm think point guard.
Small and quick...
Yep...that sounds like my girl.

Either way.

She will definitely always be my superstar.

2/365 tagging!

Day two.

So if you've read any of my past blogs you know we're cheerleading folks.

Wellllll.

We've become cheerleading folks.

Ryan is a sports fanatic.
but he only considers it a sport if there is a ball involved....or your hitting someone

Both girls have tried other things.
baseball. Softball. Tennis. Dance. Gymnastics.

Nothing else stuck.

and now that Reilly is flipping like a maniac...
Ryan is much more interested.

Don't get me wrong ... The man would have supported her even if he couldn't stand it..

but there sure is something amazing about watching your kid doing a round off into six back handsprings into a back flip.

or double twisting out of a full.

That being said...cheerleading is a pretty big deal around here.

Both girls are on two teams.

and in order to pay for it, we do loads of fundraising.

LOADS.

One of the things we do in these parts...is called tagging.

It's when you stand in front of stores and ask for donations.
It's not fun.
But we do it...because otherwise we couldn't do two teams.  We couldn't afford things like uniforms and cheer camp and cheer shoes and practice gear and competition fees...

and it has actually turned out to be a great lesson for my oldest girl.

She knew when we signed her up that she would be doing astronomical amounts of fundraising...and we told her there would be NO complaining.  That she would do it with a smile on her face...because it was her job.  It was her contribution.  (and between you and I, I get to sit in my car, watch them to make sure they are safe, and read. In silence. Cut it out. I'll do every.single.shift. please.)

and this girl has rocked it.

It probably doesn't hurt that she gets to do it with her bestie.

Her she is...after 4 hours of tagging.  Still smiling.

I wonder if she will still be smiling tonight....after another 4 hours.
Or tomorrow after another two?

Let's hope so.
Seriously folks how cute does she look in her uniform?
I know.  Serious cuteness.
But the legs.
Well those legs could stop any time now.
What I wouldn't do for those legs...
