{Sunday Snapshot} What a difference a year can make...

My very first blog enty...was about Reagan.  You remember this day.  I was kind of a blabbering Mama...
Well...it finally all caught up to me...
even though it's really been LESS than a year...
and here I am...kind of blabbering again.

We were a little more unsure of her than she was of herself...
She kept saying she could do it all by herself...
but that would mean we would have to...
let go.
Let's just be realistic for one second...
The Daddy around here...
well he doesn't do the whole letting go thing very well...

So we gathered the whole family...
including her best friend...
and her biggest fan...

We let loose.
We let her go...
We knew she could fall down...
and get hurt..
but she was ready...
and as her Mama...
and her Daddy...
It's up to us to do just that...
let her go...
when she is ready..
Cause let's be honest...
We will never be ready...

and we did...
and she did just what she said she would...
she did it...all. by. herself.

Cause nothing says BIG girl...
like riding a two wheeler...

Needless to say...
but we were pretty proud of our peanut...

but the very very best part...

was just how gosh darn proud...
she was of herself!

Let's make a deal, shall we?

I'll promise to keep letting you go...and grow up..
If you promise to keep coming back!

How did you get her to make that promise... the one to keep coming back? Bribery? I'm ok with that if it works!
Such sweet images!

Oh my gosh! That is the sweetest thing. I LOVE this post. Love. Love. LOVE! It made me cry! May she have many days of bike riding as she grows. How wonderful to have parents that let her go when she is ready! YAY for a good Mommy and Daddy!

Riding a two wheel bike is such a rite of passage! It took us nearly two years from the time the training wheels came off to master it. That was lots of running and holding on for this momma! But that "I DID IT! I REALLY DID IT!" last fall made it all so worth it.
